Capabilities and limits

What is included?

A good backup plan starts with understanding its limits.

How do I upload large files?

Web uploads are limited to 2 MB per file. Transfer larger files via SFTP using a client such as FileZilla or WinSCP, within your file storage quota.

What are the automatic backup limits?

Each backup job supports up to 5 GB of source data and 5,000 files. Your plan’s backup storage and source limits also apply.

Are backups stored at a different physical location?

File and backup spaces use separate users on the same storage node. The plan does not guarantee an independent physical copy or immutable backups.

Is FTP or root access included?

SFTP is provided for encrypted file transfers. Classic FTP, SSH shell, root access and a virtual server are not included.

Can I back up a live database?

Your source server must be reachable over SFTP through the internet. For a consistent database backup, first create a database dump and then back up that file.

Will restoring change my existing files?

Restored files are extracted into a new folder. Existing files are not automatically overwritten; you can move the files you need afterwards.
