Who this storage server is for
This is a machine for data that needs room rather than speed: nightly backups, long-term archives, video and image libraries, log retention, or a remote target for rsync, Borg and Restic.
You choose the amount of disk first and then set processor and memory around it, so the money goes into capacity instead of compute an archive rarely uses.
What the specification means in practice
The drives are enterprise SATA hard disks, not NVMe. They are quick at reading and writing large files end to end, and a poor fit for workloads made of many small random reads — databases in particular belong on NVMe.
The disk array has no RAID redundancy. There is no drive-level protection, so you need to keep a separate copy of anything you cannot lose. As a destination for backups that already exist elsewhere that is usually fine; as the only home for original data it is not.

It is not recommended. The SATA hard disks are tuned for large sequential transfers, and a database's many small random reads and writes will feel slow. Use an NVMe-backed VDS for that instead.
